Gogoro, Nebula Energy launch e-scooter battery swapping network in Nepal

Nepali new energy venture Nebula Energy and Gogoro Inc recently launched 'Gogoro Battery Swapping' ecosystem along with the introduced the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 'smart-scooter' in Nepal. 

Initially available for B2B customers in the city of Kathmandu, where the first battery swapping station is located, the Gogoro Battery Swapping is scheduled to be available to consumers later this year.

Gogoro's entrance into Nepal is seen as an extension of its commercialization in India, also utilizing Gogoro's new India-made electric scooter in the Himalayan nation. 

"Gogoro is at the forefront of sustainable urban transportation and together we plan to contribute to Nepal's zero-emission targets through this new age of sustainable energy, mobility and technology," said Manoj Goyal, chairman of Nebula Energy, at the time of the announcement late last month. 

Nebula is an authorized and exclusive partner of Gogoro Inc. in Nepal. The company is planning to rollout Gogoro battery swapping stations every two to three kilometers in the capital city of Kathmandu, even in petrol stations. The e-scooter will be available for retail customer later this year. 

"We are proud to be partnering with an industry leader like Nebula Energy who shares our vision for accelerating the electric transformation of Nepal's two-wheel transportation industry", said Horace Luke, founder and CEO of Gogoro.

Together, Gogoro and Nebula Energy share a vision for accelerating the electric transformation of Nepal's two-wheel transportation industry", he added. 

He further noted that Gogoro battery swapping is optimized to provide convenient 'Swap & Go' access, while its smart-scooter is optimized for riders in Nepal with more seating and storage space and better ground clearance.

The ecosystem provides a unique solution that addresses the major challenges that Nepal riders face when deciding to buy an electric two-wheeler today.
